b16's are not too weak for integras. they used to come in tegs in japan and australia for years. I saw a 91 teg in honda tuning that had a b16 swap and was pulling better numbers and times than his stock b18a.
Is your b18b blown?
If u can still use the block u could always get a b16a head and drop it on there, that would be real cheap and give u tremendous results. (generally about 40whp).

CRV motor all the way, and you could just transfer your stock manifold over.

Definitely B20! LS motors SUCK! Just remember to get at least a 1994-1995 LS intake manifold since the 1990-1993 LS intake runners are smaller than the B20 intake ports. Or better yet, get a Skunk2 intake manifold.

Build your motor and boost, if not I'd get a B20 block.

"best" and "affordable" dont go hand in hand. If you want anything under 2K.. I'd go B18B.

LS motors suck??? The B20 is a LS motor. Just with more displacement. I'm sure you already know this.

Cant go wrong with a semi built B16, you could do some headwork on an SIR1 B16, and you will be well into the 14's

Theres a 30 hp difference between the B18a1 and a B16 so I'd kinda hope it was faster. BUT it is not unusual for B18s to beat B16s, so I say B18

B20 or B18B - either way you've got a newer motor, more tq and hp and an easy install. Both would be great for a VTEC head or boost later on when you have more $.
