car revs to 4000rpm after installing aftermarket throttle body and intake manifold
i have all lines and connections right replaced gaskets and it revs to 4000rpm i covered the throttle body and the rev went down to 2500rpm so what could cause this?
ok well the throttle adjust screw was too tight and it was making it rev a lot so I got it figured out no vac leaks. but where I plugged the coolant line on the connecting pipe it leaks from the plug. I have a cap on it but it still leaks and a clamp. so should I run the coolant line to it an plug the little nipple on the manifold?
Pic ? not the best description to go off. and the screw being too tight would make the idle less not increase it as you are saying. did you TQ the manifold bolts to the correct spec or at least goo n tight.

I think he means the throttle cable was too tight, that would cause it to rev high. What coolant line did you plug, OP? You should run coolant lines to any coolant line nipples, and you shouldn't have any open vacuum lines on the manifold, that will definitely cause a high idle.
i got rev issue figured out. theres an adjustment screw where the throttle line connects and its like an idle screw i guess but it was screwd in enough to let a lot of air theough the bore so i loosend it and the butterfly closed a little more and it solved my issue on the rev. now i connected the IACV to the small nipple on the manifold and plugged the connecting pipe by the thermostat. well theres coolant leaking so im going to connect the line from the IACV to the connecting pipe and plug the small nipple on the intake manifold. if that makes any sense?

LOL, starting to get the picture......ive heard a lot of bad things and a lot of good things. for me its in between. everythings working fine but I just have a little stick. im going to fix that with loosening the throttle cable or getting a new one.
