As funny as they are. That style of instructions has a target market. Based on the type of questions that you have been asking as of late. You fall right into that market.

The Honda gods have spoken to me. I am but a messenger of the Honda gods! They have requested that I exact unrelenting persecution on to you for your mockery of this forum!

Break-In Procedure
1. Find a parking lot
2. Pull handbrake
3. Attempt burnout but burn the clutch instead
4. ????
5. Profit!

Serious note, I thought you went for a heavier clutch considering what you planned on using it for?

This clutch is for the H23 which makes 160 HP so it should be fine. Gonna be using the H23 transmission and hopefully the 5 speed swap will work out. That's going to be a big job and I want to do one thing at a time. This clutch will suffice for the power that is on the car already and then some.

But if I wanted forced induction or build it up, this clutch would burn up wouldn't it? What if it was just like 200 HP would it still burn it up?

I just thought you said you were planning on driving it hard? It shouldn't burn up no, but I would suggest a heavy duty pressure plate if you haven't already gotten one. A preventative maintenance if you will.

Also the H22/H23/F22A/F22B clutch is the SAME one, it's irrelevant which engine the clutch is hanging off of.

So you mean to tell me that the 250$ for the stage 1 clutch is necessary if I am going to do any spirited driving at all? I am not going to drive it hard all the time just a little bit here and there. Mainly it will be driven like any sane human being would, safely and at a normal pace. I just like to rev it up off the line to **** people off lol.

I did get the whole kit so it comes with the bearing and the pressure plate brand new.

So should I take it back and get the stage 1 kit? For the power it has now and a little more, I believe that it suits my needs perfectly. I am not going to drive it like a track car, just a little here and a little there. If it would make the car faster I am all for it. Would a stage 1 clutch make it quicker?

If that's the case what you have will be fine.
An upgraded clutch will only help make shifts quicker. (at this power level I mean)

When you start making power you'll know when to swap out clutches.
Go throw that one on and drive.

EDIT: I wouldn't say Exedy is junk by any means. Granted I went with a CM but that's just personal preference and what they had available.

I've had more Comp clutches come apart than any other manufacturer. 3 of the last 4 Comp disks have popped out a spring causing damage to both flywheel and pressure plate.

That Exedy clutch is basically an OEM replacement part.

I've been watching you post. You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. On any subject.

And the instructions are like that because some people need them. There are some Japanese factories here in the U.S. where the workers are so illiterate that they have to use pictographs on the machines to explain how they work. So, as stated, this works for the target market perfectly.

Actually, it is funny. And that is why people will actually stop and read it instead of simply ignoring the instruction as on most US made parts. I think it is a good idea.

really cartoonish things like this are everywhere in Japan. Not targeted at illiterate factory workers in the US... but the common format accross the board for most things japanese. i would bet the same box sells in Japan, maybe without the english.

I do like the high level of "tech" in this thread.

what ghost accord said its oem replacement if you are racing and building might as well spend a few extra bills to get a better clutch for later upgrades better then buying one now and then needing to spend more later x2 the money

So should I return this back and get a stage 1 Exedy instead or are there others which I should look into?

Can I get a cheap kit from "Bahnof" like this?

competition clutch and clutchmasters was recommened by gearspeed and bisimoto me and the homie put in the fx400 but of course that is on a h22a with bolt ons. today i will upload his dyno sheet, made 203 at the wheels and it GRIPS no chatter you have to install it PERFECT and resurface your flywheel to avoid chatter ive seen people have chatter due to misalignment or not resurfacing there flywheel and make sure you have a quality torque wrench to torque down the pressure plate you use torque specs play a roll on how the clutch acts. ill ask the homie to shoot me the link from ebay where he bought it, they are legit we took it to our local clutchmasters facility and they confirmed that it was a real clutchmasters fx400 and he got it for a deal im sure they'll have something for you for cheap ill be posting the dyno pulls as soon as im done editing the video

That's too much for me, maybe I'll just use this until it blows up. Or i'll get a stage 1 or 2 or 3 F1, XTD or Bahnof kits and call it a day. Or the Exedy stage 1 kit. I just can't pay that much for a clutch, its ridiculous in my opinion.

There's nothing you can put on an Exedy OEM replacement clutch N/A that is going to overwhelm it. You don't make that kind of torque. Don't listen to people that can only tell you what other people have done.

x2

clutches are based on the torque they can handle and the abuse they can handle. if this is a daily driver, not a dedicated track car and you're not making over 50% more torque than stock (IIRC) a high quality OE replacement like Exedy brand will suffice.
