Default Transmission slipping?

My Del Sol transmission is slipping I think it. I was driving it yesterday and for the first time during the couple months I've owned it, I was at a red light waiting and it turned green as usual it acclerated great first one off (Had a douche on my side trying to race me) and I got off and and tried flooring it but all it did was slow down and rev up.. I took my foot off and acclerated again and it took off. I'm not sure if I floored it to fast or what happened but after that it was fine until I tried doing it again like 30 minutes later, took my foot off the gas and accelerated again and it was fine. Anyone help me out here? Its a Automatic VTEC 95 del sol

Default Re: Transmission slipping?

Check the fluid level, aerated fluid will not hold clutches properly. It is possible if the transmission was "hunting" between second and first gear that the oil pump could not supply enough pressure to re-engage first gear. This could indicate an internal leak or worn 1st clutches, poor fluid quality, etc. But before we get ahead of ourselves, your symptoms mimic many that I have seen with a fluid level that is too low.
