Ok i just bought a 00 civic with a few problems. main problems are the transmission and a miss/no fire one cyl 3.
I checked spark, replaced distributor, wires and plugs and fuel injector is also fine. Multimeter gives the pulse to the injector, not 100% on voltage though since it changes so quickly.
Borrowing a compression tester soon. Will post ressults when i get them.
Trans sounds like input shaft bearing, because it matches the engine RPM and not the wheel speed. does it in all 5 gears but not when clutch is out.
If i do need a new trans AND engine(or head/head gasket) i will likely be looking for a b16/b18b to swap into the car. Have looked at the swap and doesnt look too difficult except nothing says anything about the harnesses, does mine work with a 96+ integra b18?

Do a leak down test will help point HG or not also for the miss can tell you if it's the valves they could be burnt/warped.

 

OK compression test identifies the third cylinder as the faulty one, which i knew. New plug was dripping with oil and turned up no compression whatsoever.
Looks like ill be looking for parts for a b18 swap.
i know i need mounts for trans and engine. can anyone confirm the harnesses are the same? ECU plugs are the same? i have AC and will need a del sol mount bracket. Then thats it?
