You need to use a 96-98 harness in a 96-98 civic. 99-00 harness will not work in a 96-98 car.

are you still using the 96-98 ECU with the 2000 harness? switch to a 99-2000 ECU

You have to use a 96-98 harness for a 96-98 car. You can use a 99-00 ECU but will need a jumper harness.

I was using a 2000 ECU with my 96 harness, they make jumpers that allow it. Regardless OP you need to get the harness for your year chassis.

No idea but it came with a y8 harness and a z6 engine.the engine is bad so I bought a y7 and the y7 engine harness from a 2000 as well as the ecu.then I was told yesterday that it works just not how it's suppose to cus it won't work the gauge cluster or the connection where u plug in the scanner.so that I need a y7 harness from a 96-98.so I just wanted to confirm what they told me.
