Default Ej8 Sedan flickering oil light then shuts off on the fwy...smoke from breather filter

So I drivin my girls dads extra car to go to work this morning at 3am they ha just swapped out a 99 d16y8 because the original one never came in the car just a d16y7 which had a cracked sleeve. I let the car warm up for like 3-4 mins then cruised out of the neighborhood. I drive the car the day before same time no issues I did notice the oil light flickering on & off almost like a loose connection or electrical problem the light wouldn't stay on, car idled perfect at 1,000rpm. I might it about 2 miles on my way to work and I was in 4th noticing the car wouldn't go any faster then the 60 I was going then slowly lost power & turned off, I put it on neutral & turned the ignition it started I then put it in 4th trying to cruise but then turned off again & wouldn't turn back on I pop the hood and I believe white smoke came out the breather filter off the Pcv. Crank cranks but does not start, car wasn't smoking from the exhaust from what I saw atleast.

Any help is greatly appreciated, I knew the car felt sketch the day before it would also shake kinda violent leaving 1st gear you'd have to play with the gas to lift the rpm without getting it to shake

Stop trying to start the car. The oil light is there for a reason - as SOON as it comes on, even if it's just a brief flicker, you need to immediately pull over and check your oil level. Good chance that motor you just put in the car is already shot because you starved it.

Start off by checking your oil level.

So you chose to IGNORE a warning light? The oil warning light no less? And no where did I read that you even bothered to check the oil levels. Jeez.

You've most likely done some serious damage to the engine; spun a bearing and/or damaged the cylinder wall(s). The warning lights come on for a reason. If I saw a warning light come on the first thought wouldn't be, "hmm, I think that warning light is malfunctioning."

The only time I ever saw an oil light flicker was in my old Prelude when I was taking an on ramp a little aggressively. First thing I did was pull over and check the oil. That "new" engine is toast.

The moment I saw the oil light come on the day before the car took a **** I pulled over immediately checked oil level it was fine idled at 1k the only real stumper was why itd shake leaving 1st gear it went into vtec for the 1 time I tried to go into it but other then that the car was driven maybe 2/3 times a week my girls dad switches from his Vw thing to his rhd Vw notchback to his diesel dulie. I wasn't trying to go fast at all was just trying to cruise to work at 3am. I drove the car to back and work the day before called him immediately when I saw the warning light & he told me it'd been like that for like 2/3 weeks and he assumed it was an electrical issue. The car had cel but only because the test pipe

For something to do you can drain the oil to see what/how much comes out. I'd also preform a compression and leak down test just to see what's what. Based on the info you've given, I'm pretty sure something is seriously wrong/not worth fixing because of the potential extent of the damage.

As soon as the engine is deprived of oil very bad things happen. It only takes a few seconds to destroy the internals.

Also, driving with a CEL puts the car in limp mode. The short of it is that it's bad. If you're not running an ECU like Hondata ditch the test pipe and reinstall the cat.

This is going to sound like a really stupid question. When you checked your oil, did you wipe, reinsert, and remove the dipstick, or did you just pull it out and look at it?
