Default 94 accord oil light turned on at half quart low car shut off

Hey I've got a 94 accord ex f22 vtech I was driving home going 45 when my oil light turned on. I did need an oil change but I was only half quart down. Won't start now I didn't see the check engine light on until it died either. Any ideas?

Oil light means no oil pressure, if you kept driving with no oil pressure then damage would occur.

AFAIK the oil light sensor only turns on the oil light, and there is no safety device that will stop the engine with loss of oil pressure, outside of mechanical damage locking/seizing components.

Or the electrical part of the switch has gone out.

What is the car doing when you turn it on - not start just to on - does the cel come on for 2~3 seconds and go off?

What happens when you try to start the car - starter spins the motor but it does not run?

ya the check engine light comes on and shuts off, and ya just keeps spinning.

I just went out and spun the crankshaft pulley with a wrench, so that does mean the motors not seized?

Without oil there is no lubrication, this creates friction and heat which causes the parts to expand, excessively wear and eventually seize. When the engine cools back down it is often possible to turn the engine over, however due to lack of lubrication the rings/pistons/cylinder walls may be scored and will not create compression.

Compression check all cylinders.
