I recently purchased a 1997 Honda Civic DX. $3,200, all stock, $118k miles.
Here is my build thread along the way:

I keep telling people that there are a lot of clean, unmolested Civics down here.

First thing is swapping the cracked exhaust manifold and clogged cat with some 4-2-1 headers and a resonator

You're going to have to extend wires for the O2 sensor or get a plug-n-play extension. And that thing is gonna be loud.

I think more of the problem is people complain they can not find them for the same price as a beat and ragged civic. I can find them all day in the DC area, but you are going to pay a little bit.

There are quite a few clean, unmolested civics around here, mostly 96-2000 ive seen, anything under 90 is gone. It took some hunting to find this clean little hatchback. Im sure glad i picked it up.

Its because there are so many ragged and beat civics around here, they think they are all race cars that deserve race car prices, which drives up the price of the unmolested cars.

I dont know his reasoning behind it, he has yet to get back to me. But from what i have read on honda-tech i will need an o2 sensor ext. But he insists its just a waste of money.

Anyhow, i hope the 2.5" piping, resonator, and 4.5" tip won't be too loud

Well you do not need to buy one since you can extend it yourself.

An ext is like $30. To extend yourself, you just cut the wires and buy new wiring to extend?

Swap that muffler for something else or you are going to regret it =[ Loud and raspy AF! Yonaka has a special going on right now for hatches. $300 for the catback. Sadly I emailed them and they don't sell anything for the del sol and they won't sell me "just the muffler" =[

i really like my N1 ebay replica thats a 4 inch muffler. Amazing deep tone sound and not loud and raspy at all. Think i paid $45 for it? Another $80 for custom piping and i like it.

From what I've seen/heard as long as the silencer is in place it isn't all that bad.

Yeah I figured the muffler would be loud, but I'm
Hoping not too too loud and raspy. I'd just likely replace that cracked intake and get rid of the loud, crackly, rattling old exhaust. Lol seal up that head and get better hp and mpg.

I've heard lots of good things about yonaka, but I don't have that's net yet and he car is running like crap lol. But I feel this one will do. And with headers, you delete the cat an put up resonators.

Same color and miles? ;P Mine was in pretty dang good condition. It needed the usual service tune up, and now I'm replacing the parts I want. Did it come with the oem mudflaps, intake cover, and interior hath cover?

I emailed them like you suggested to me in another thread and they wouldn't sell me just the muffler either.

Really? I just finished installing a 2/4 door exhaust, header back, on a hatch with no mods. Miracle?
