Default No charge from alternator to battery

Ok, I'm stuck. I had an issue with my car. Its a 1997 honda civic cx. Just recently i was driving to work and all of the sudden my gauges drop (both the rpm and speedo drop to zero) and all my power died. Car was still running but i got no juice from the headlight or radio or anything. I stop to pull over and power off my car. Sure enough it didn't start back up. I figure, um give it a while and try it again. I waited 5 mins and was able to start back up. After about almost a minute both the speedometer and rpm drop back to zero and the car starts to die. I figure ok Alternator ain't charging because I just bought a new battery for it. After buying a new alternator I figure I drive it to work. Drove to work for 2 days and again it died right when i got home. I'm stuck now. any solutions?

So both the battery and alternator are new parts,? Have you checked your battery cables to make sure they are secure? I would also check your grounds in your engine bay to make sure those are tight as well. It almost sounds like you may have gotten a bad alternator. Have you checked what voltage you are getting from it and the battery? I would try this testing from this write-up and go from there to determine if the alternator is bad.
