Missfire?
Started a few days ago where the idle is really rough and the exhaust sounds like its chugging. I checked the plugs and they are fine. Distributor cap and rotor are about a year old along with the fuel filter and the air filter. My only guess is maybe the timing or the coil. any other ideas?? Its a 1.5 liter dpfi.
what kind of plugs and cap/rotor? if it's not OEM, then failure after a year is a possibility. what kind of plug wires?
timing doesn't change. unless you fooled around with something, it's not likely the timing is all of a sudden wrong. eliminate the simple stuff first, don't skip over the simple stuff just because you *think* it's good.
yes, the distributor could be bad. test spark strength with the proper tool. is one cyl misfiring, or random misfire on all cylinders?

The cap and rotor are not oem. As for the plug wires that is one thing that I did not change. Should those be oem as well? I know I am due for a new timing belt and tensioner so thats the only reason I thought it may be that and the fact that while tying to accelerate while coasting it sometimes bogs down like its about to die.
Just an update. Replaced the cap and rotor with oem ones. Still getting the rough idle. I am getting good spark on all cylinders so could it be fuel or intake related?? This is my first Honda so any ideas would appreciated. Thanks.
