Default no more pro rwd or quick 16 or 32 in OGS events

Rumors has it that OGS will no longer have pro rwd or quick 16-32 on their events like summer slams and fall nationals. Also that a new racer association ( USA Sport Compact Association) was starred today headed by Luis Corujo of Paradise Racing. Can both news be related?
As a fan hope whatever is going can be resolved.

yes its true! look at the GRS-Motorsports page on facebook.

I heard they coming out with a FWD class with 3k payouts for 1st.

Sucks that we have no more GRS covrage at the events. Loved their videos!

Interesting turn of events. Any schedules posted by the new association?

IMO OGS will fail without the RWD cars (I don't wish this on them). It bought a lot of cars and fans from around the world.

Thats sad!!!! Even though I race FWD I always enjoyed those classes from when I couldnt even drive. I honestly think Javier will regret this decision and hopefully it doesnt damage his business in the process. I do like that the racers banded together and created US Sport Compact Racing and plan to promote events for those classes. Sometimes new competition generates good change

I can see doing away with quick 32 but atleast give the RWD a set class. Q32 is great but the amount of cars that attempt to qualify is overwhelming and then there is a 32 car field to knock down to 2! That class alone is responsible for all of the events involving it that have ended prematurely for curfew, IMHO.

the bracket class's are pretty overwhelming as well.

i think its pretty safe to assume that most fans would rather watch the diverse quick 32 class, more so than the bracket 1 and 2 categories.

That is too bad. That isn't going to just hurt the people directly involved...it is going to hurt ALL the racers.

Its hard to miss all the drama with social media these days.

I'm pretty sure it comes down to money right?
I just don't understand when drag racing fans enjoy watching fast cars instead of 14-20sec. bracket cars. bracket cars are a time to go to the bathroom and get some food/drinks.

I believe once Raceway Park see's the decrease in revenue through the gate from a lower spectator count and less tech cards sold, they will approach Javier about this change. I am sure that more cars will come for the front wheel drive classes , but that number will not match the number of cars NOT showing up that are RWD. Add on the additonal number of crew members, family, and other racers/ show cars these two classes bring in and I believe myself, the events will suffer. Just look at the stands for fan reactions when team P.R or team USA comes out from under the tower or someone does some wild 330ft. burnout. You lose that....that passion, that excitement, and the events will slowly begin to slip away.
Some will argue that Javiers Honda Day Brand is huge...yes. But only having it 2 times a year makes it special. You can not create that magnitude of a niche car market event , for multiple events a year (more than 2)

Hopefully OGS and the organizers of this association will try and work something out with cooler heads. Both sides are very passionate about their business. I do believe BOTH sides (all 3 if you include team Puerto Rico as a seperate entity) should be getting a cut of the money involved in the event. I also do not think it is out of the question to grant some of the bigger names in the flagship classes (Pro RWD for example) a free tech card, or even some round money. Without the racers, you have no show. No show and no fans. No fans and there are a lot of people looking for new jobs and new hobbies.

I BELIVE A EVERY MAYOR CLASS SHOULD GET PAID TO PERFORM the amount should be determine per class FROM THE INDEX class thru PRO class... Except bracket from the moment you qualify you should be compensated at least the Gate charge even if they return you the gate charge it cannot hurt it from the budget much its only driver and tech card and not his pit crew or family members and friends.
I said compensation depends on the class. This is besides the prize. And only if u qualify. But they see this as less money to their pocket..so they wont agree to this its sad to say that with this Mentality we will have no Incentive to attend OGS events Only for pleasure.

you got country farm tracks down in NC giving out 3k and 5k for FWD races.

IFO races 8 cars min and you get 1200 for FWD class.

Honda day biggest event in the world, with the FWD class being the pro class and you get $1000 for first.

appearing to one class (FWD) sounds like it creates limits but well see how it plays out......maybe it'll be honda day at every OGS event lol
