Default overriding a rev limiter

I race an 1989 crx b16 at a local circle track and have been having trouble with the car hitting the rev limiter. I've been having to run it in third gear. I've tried different sized tires and that didn't help. What Iwant to know is how do I override the rev limiter able to be stay in second gear.

..... this can't be serious. firstly it's there for a reason, so you don't damage your motor. secondly it's there because you don't make power past that point. but to actually move or remove the rev limiter you'll need to have your ecu chipped and retuned with the limiter removed. to have any power gains beyond stock rev limit, and to safely make power higher up you'll need headwork and rods minimum so it will withstand the higher revs safely.

why not try a different transmission? longer gearing may help you

yeah, use an LS tranny or even a B2D adapter and use a SOHC tranny.
