Really did you even look. They are good for about 350-400whp.

i made 501whp with my garrett ball bearing 50 trim on e85 and 395whp with straight 91 octane.

500whp on a 50 trim I call BS, post up the dyno sheet and specs on the motor and setup. If you did make 500 on a 50 trim you way maxed it out and it was blowing fire into the intercooler LOL.

I wouldn't go so far as to call "BS", because I know what Riceball is seeing, he believes it, and is, in fact, on his dyno sheet. But I do know that its reading a bit high without proper corrections, as the 48lbs/min unit with that turbine profile could never physically do that without it being on the verge of destruction, (even then..).

That's like Surfer doing over 600whp.. its not corrected, it can't do it, but its been recorded as been having done. When you look more closely, dyno is reading high.

Its ok.. Dynos are just tools to get the car calibrated. One should never take it personally. As long as Riceball is happy with it, he should go with that..

It was in a S2000...

Either way, a 50 trim what exactly? Will make a world of difference... if it's a T3 then you guys are going crazy foolishly.

This is referred to be the standard "trim" series that was part of the original 3 members of the "T3/T04E" class, in which a T3 turbine was used with a T04E compressor wheel family as the original hybrids that Turbonetics popularized in the mid-late 1990s.

This hybrid combination family consisted of the 3 main wheels that all used a 75mm exducer on the compressor side and consisted of the 54mm (50 trim), 56mm (57mm) and 60 trim (58mm) inducer sizes. There is also a limited version of the (55mm) 54 trim, but that has been discontinued for a few years. The turbine wheel is typically the Stage 3 (65mm Wheel diameter).

For most younger people, "trim" measurement was incorrectly used to determine wheel inducer size and therefore CFM capability of a specific turbocharger. That logic works with those within the original hybrid family which shared the same exducer measurement, but it doesn't work across the board. See, N3V3R already knew what "trim" actually measured, but wasn't used to the fact that this term "50 trim" was used by younger people describing one of the members of the original turbonetics hybrid family that had an airflow conversion rate of 46-48lbs/min. So, of course, to N3V3R, "50 trim" could mean MANY applications. Similarly, a T3 "45 trim", which refers to a straight T3 turbine family, and not of the T3/T04E family, is common knowledge to those that know the T3 family well.

Either way, the efficiency range of the 50 "trim" is about 46lbs/min-48lbs/min using a 43lbs/min efficiency 65mm turbine wheel. Regardless of engine, it can only do about 425whp at its maximum efficiency of about 21-25psi of boost pressure, which is nowhere near 500whp. But if Riceball sees his dyno chart reflect that, who is he to doubt what he sees?.. its just the fact that his dyno reads horribly high, and though it is only a tool, one should know its capabilities.. that's all.

Carry on..

I will admit, turbos aren't my strong suit (hah, even then I am better than most) but I can build some hauling turbo engines, but all the lingo (as you know "TheShodan") is lost on me. That is why I only hang out in this section exclusively. I already "know it all" in most of the others. Fun for everyone! Thanks for spelling it out for me as usual bud.

It could still very well be a straight t3 50 trim, which means it's almost pointless to use, supports very little power

And since the op hasnt given us any info like a part number or pictures, we're all basically talking out of our asses
