I just got done rebuilding my transmission, h22 m2b4 lsd transmission. I worked into the late hours of the night and must have missed torquing down the filler bolt. I went down the road about 2 miles, it started to refuse shifting into gear, so I brought the car back home. Apparently the filler bolt backed out and I lost all transmission fluid within about 300 feet of my garage and on the driveway. As it sits it wont engage reverse now. Could that 30 seconds without fluid ruined something? Any advice is appreciated
How hard did you crank on it in that 300ft? Anytime there friction and extreme heat and soft metals theres a chance you could have welded some bits together. Ive seen people who never change break pads weld their pads to their rotors after extreme breaking. could be something simular. Your best bet is to take out and inspect the internals imo, couldnt hurt to be safe right?

*Sigh* this will be about the 10th time Ive had the drivetrain out in 6 months of owning the car. Its been in the garage about 50X for then on the road, no exaggeration
What kind of trans? if its cheap usdm trans i say go for it, who cares if it explodes there a dime a dozen. But if its a oem lsd id try to open it up to possibly salvage it. They are worth a little more, and would suck to blow it up when it could have been a quick fix. Maybe just need new syncros on one or two gears. Well anyhow good luck bro!

Its worth rebuilding, although if you just paid $1200 for it it should be in like rebuilt condition. For one without rebuild papers I couldnt pay over $800 for it, and thats about top dollar. Even the T2T4 trans with the better gearing only run about $800 or so. I would only ever pay $1200 for a U2Q7 or a T2W4 oem lsd trans. "These are also before shipping prices i might add. " shipping depends on where you live, also things can be worth more depending on where you live too.
