I am trying to remove the front driver side wheel and it will not budge. I had a similar problem with the passenger side wheel and was able to loosen it with a couple whacks on the outer ridge of the rim with a 2x4 with a hammer.

It is not coming off this way and I'm starting to think I'm either missing a step somewhere or using the totally wrong method to take the tire off.

These are the original wheels and there have been no modifications to the car that I know of.

Edit: I lost my brain there for a second. It is a 91 and this is probably in the wrong section. Sorry guys!

 

Loosen lugnuts while on the ground. Jack up car. Remove lug nuts. Remove wheel.

 

Kick it ti loosen it

 

If you have to, put all 4 nuts back on until 1.5 turns from bottomed out. Lower car, turn wheel back and forth till she "pops" loose. You'll hear it.
