Default Problems with cable JDM b16 tranny and clutch disk.

I have a 91 Crx si that I'm swapping with a built N/A gsr Mated with a JDM cable B16 trans. Have everything that I need to put the engine and trans in the car but keep hitting a wall when it comes to the clutch disk and sliding onto the shaft, I have tried both big spline clutch disk and the normal sized spline clutch disk both of which did not work. Big spline was too big and normal spline seems too small, wouldn't even slide onto the shaft.

This is where I need the help on what to do! Getting tired of ordering clutch disks, it's making me want to just sell the car. This is my 4th Crx and I have done noumerous swaps in the past. This one part is just stumping me.

Any advice or suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance - Robert

Had a similar problem. Went though like 3 discs looking for the right one. Check the vin # on the tranny case. Different series use different discs i.e. J1, S1, Y1...

It's a J1. I find it kind of odd after owning so many swaps with doing clutches on all of them that I just now run into this problem.

Are you ordering the clutch for a 90 Integra? That's how I source clutch kits for my cable S1.

+1

I used an Exedy Stage 1 P/N 08804 on my jdm S1. 24 splines.

Why not just count the splines? Then you will know for sure what clutch to use.

How does it not fit? Did it come with a clutch alignment tool? How does the tool compare to your tranny input shaft?

It's roughly 1/16-1-8th too small. Called up LSD MotorSports and they are going to get me squared away. He thinks the first one they sent may have been the incorrect clutch and is going to send me another big spline. We talked on the phone for a while today had me take measurements and confirmed my input shaft is in fact the big spline measuring in at just a hair over a one inch Diameter. As far as a clutch alignment tool, I do have one but I always try to slide the clutch disk on the input to make sure before I button things up. Hoping the third time is a charm and I can get the engine done, in the mean time ill continue with my wire tuck.
