Default 93 Honda Civic 1.5L not turning over w/o starter fluid

I need some help with a 93 civic. It stalled out on me in sept and I couldn't get it to start back up. This past thurs I put a new battery, spark plugs are new and fuel filter is new. I was able to start it with starting fluid and it idled for about 5min just fine. I drove it back to my place which is 30 miles away and as soon as I got on the highway the check engine light came on and did not turn off. It drove fine all the way to my house. Started it again 20 min later and it idled fine for about 3 min, no check engine light. A few hours later I went to start it and same thing happened, no turn over. Any suggestions? Maybe the MAP sensor?

Fuel pump?
You should jump the service connector and see what code the CEL was.

Do you have a link to a video of that because in the reapir manuel I have the pictures are not that good and I have not found a video. Would it run that long with a bad fuel pump?

Fuel injectors actually spraying fuel? The main relay operating correctly?

Had main relay tested and took back seat out and could feel the fuel pump turn on. Tried to use starter fluid and it sounded like it was going to turn over but didnt. It has about 1/2 a tank of the gas I put in Sept. Should I try putting some new gas in? How do I test the fuel injectors? In the meantime I will look around on the web for some more ideas. Thanks for the suggestions.

I tested the fuel injectors with a multimeter. I got a ohm reading on the injectors and a voltage reading on the wiring harness.

I asked if they were spraying, like PHYSICALLY spraying.

Check for a clogged fuel filter

^ could be..

fuel turns into a sludge mess when it sits..and ethanol is bad too..change fuel filter and get back with us...

Also ^^ read above posts about the injectors, do they spray and operate properly.

I'm a big fan of SeaFoam. It's versatile too, you aren't limited to only adding it to your fuel tank. You can clean out the rail with it too.

I had bought a car in the past, that had a full tank of gas but sat in a driveway for 5 years prior to my purchase. After replacing the fuel tank, pump, and filter it still wouldn't start. I cleaned out the rail with seafoam, and put 2 full cans in the tank on top of a full and fresh tank of gas ( brand new gas tank ). Fired right up. smelled a little funny for a while but worked.

"You should jump the service connector and see what code the CEL was."

under the dash by the front door of the passenger side is a connector. you can put a piece of wire in the 2 holes or just a paper clip and it will give you a code to look up. i just use a paper clip tbh I've been plagued with electrical problems and without those codes I wouldn't be driving my 93 civic d15b7 (jhmeg8_ftw!)

Thanks for all the sugestions. I was able to find the ecm and read the code which was for the ignition system and after testing that I had no spark I tested the coil which was good. I also tested the ICM, it was bad and I also double checked it at an auto parts store and they also said it was no good. I replaced the ICM,rotor, distributor cap, and ignition wires. Runs good now.
