F22A4 build suggestions.
I have an f22a4 engine with 200,xxx miles, and I want to gain a little hp here and there. What are somethings I can do to gain hp below $1k. Not a swap, just mods for my f22.
$1,000
no swaps
more power
200,000 miles
you could probably squeeze in a full rebuild, bump the compression up and add a mild cam and maybe still have enough cash to get it tuned.
IMHO, $1k is better spent on wheels, tires and suspension. if you already have that then save another $1,000-1,500 to go bigger on the rebuild. it's the same amount of work on your part (if you're doing the work) but with better parts and more payback.

+1 for suspension.
-mill the head ~.040" to bump compression
-swap on an H23 intake manifold
-cam gear
-2.5" exhaust
-cheap header with modified 2.5" collector
-H23 manual trans
-socketed ECU and get it tuned.
I made 169whp with that setup on an F23 a few years back (almost 50whp over stock).
