Squeaky clutch pedal
My clutch pedal squeaks toward the bottom of its travel. It usually doesn't do it at the beginning of the day, it just gets worse the more I drive it. Playing around down there (by the pedal assy), the sound seems to be coming from the cable itself. It sounds like the cable is grabbing or sticking inside the sheath around the cable, then letting go, then sticking, etc. really fast. I originally thought I might just need to lube the pedal assy, but that doesn't seem like the source. Has anyone ever had this happen? Does it mean the cable is soon to go?
i've seen threads about this in the past but i havent heard of the solution yet. it happens to me also, just what you're decribing exactly. and my cable is new so i dont think it means yours is about to break. IM me if you fix it!
yeah I get a bit of squeak as well. it is intermitent though.
have the dash off the car and will try to locate the source of the squeak.
if i find anuthing i'll let you know

have same problem. there is a spring attached to the top of the pedal arm. mine is old i guess. i was gonna replace it but i flaked out. too far to reach. so i sprayed it with wd-40. squeak went away for about 2 months. time to spray again, until my busy *** can go the dealer and order one. then again yours could be something else. i have heard of cables breaking.

Happens to me too...seems like it's only after 1)I've been driving for a long, long time when shifting a lot, or 2)not quite so long, on the freeway in 5th gear in hot weather.
I'd love to know the solution too! Lemme know if you find it.

Had this problem to the point where my clutch pedal wouldn't return on it's own
. It's exactly what you think it is...the lubrication inside the sheath has dried up. Best solution would be to order a new one (go with Honda, I encountered this problem after replacing with non-OEM after about 2 years...if that). After I replaced, the squeak and the binding went away. Until then keep it lubed reallly good
Peace

Wow, thanks for all the replies, guys. How would I go about lubing the cable? I thought it was a closed design. I had no idea there was lubrication inside the cable, but that would explain it exactly. That's exactly what it sounds like. I'll probably get a new cable. They're only like $20-$30, aren't they? Once again, thanks! You guys rule.
