Default del Sol Main Relay Ground Kill Switch Question

I'm installing a kill switch on the main relay ground in my 97 del Sol Si. The relay ground has two ground wires going into the plug. Do I use both of these? How many amp switch will I need? I just splice the wires, route one pair to one terminal on the switch, other terminal of the switch goes to the other side of the splice, correct? Here a pic.

Thank you

just cut those 2 black wires you can get a very small switch in it since those wires are grounds like 1amp is plenty for it

how ever you should cut it way up the harness wire so it dont look like you put a switch in your main relay ground lol

thats way more switch than you need its not exactly that sneaky with a big switch and yes cut both and splice them together then run them to the switch and back to the relay

your just putting a switch in the ground wires its not like it carry's voltage

if you try to cut just 1 of the wires it will just click repeatedly

The switch is not that big. Plus its hidden VERY well. But I will do both and run it to the switch and back. Thanks

Thats what I plan on doing. It's all wired up, except splicing the grounds, and now I need to get the car running before I finish this.

I'm probably going to do a fuel pump kill switch as well... In a different spot. How exactly do I wire the fuel pump on a 2 post on off switch? Same way? Sorry, I'm an electrical idiot.

theres no point the main relay ground controls it all anyway the fuel pump wont prime with with the main relay not grounded nor will it have spark

the reason you splice those black wires together then run them to the switch is they are both grounds that lead off to different places

but get the car running before you do anything to those wires

also make sure ur cigarette lighter is plugged in or your fuel pump will get no power lol I spent 2 days poken around diagnosing to figure out that

If you splice it right next to the relay, its obvious to a theif what's going on. If you are just creating a series of time killers, then, yes. Another key piece is the hood release cable. They'll cut the plastic inner liner in driver side front fender (if liner is there), cut the release cable, then pop hood, cut siren wires/disconnect batt. Now they have more time to work on stealing it. I suggest re-routing this cable into the engine bay/through firewall.

There's actually a bunch of threads in audio/security section on theft-proofing
