Can anyone advise what I need to do when the ABS light on 03 Element is lit with new brakes and rotors being put on and no error code showing when checking on a scan tool.Thanks for any help.

 

If the ABS light is lit there is a stored code. Your scan tool probably can't read it. I would take it to the dealership.

 

Most readers that you buy will only read engine codes, they don't do ABS, SRS, BCM. You need to have a good one like from snap on, mac tool. They cost a **** load. The one I use at work is $7500, but it does everything, and we have 2 of them.

Best bet is go to the dealer or a shot that can read them. It's most likely a wheel speed sensor that is gone now since you've done the brakes, which can happen very easily if your not careful enough and hit it or broke a wire.
