Need help on all the parts im going to need to swap out my stock d16y7 and stock trany out of my 98 civic coupe and to add im going to be converting it from automatic to manual so ill be needing those parts also. i Have the B20 99-00 long block already, now just thinkn of what trany i should go with and im also tryna save money but also do everything right so i wana salvage good used oem parts but lack the knowledge of the engines and others cars i can get them from. Can someone please help the advice would be appreciated.
PM if you need any advise as I did this swap in my ek.
Save the b20 timing side mount bracket as it will be needed to put the b20 into your ek*
You will need:
LS intake manifold
94-01 integra shift linkage OR* 99-00 SI shift linkage
99-00 Civic SI rear transmission bracket
94-01 Integra OR* 99-00 SI axles and half shaft
B16/B18/B20 headers
Look for a LS transmission because they are usually the cheapest and easiest to find (plus they have longer gearing for better freeway mpg).
Also get an obd2a to obd1 jumper harness and find yourself a obd1 p75 ecu .
Companies like avid and innovative make great mounts for your car and trust me you will thank yourself later for going with aftermarket solid mounts.
Also while you have the B20 out of the car look into doing some maintainence work on it, its way easier to change seals and gaskets with the motor out!
