another tranny problem, help me=(
ok i thought my tranny was good bcause i just bought my car but now it's really hard to shift or get into gear with the car on. if the car is off it'll shift perfectly i can put it in 1st before i start the car to get it goin, but afterwards it wont shift into any other gear. It also feels like its about to die if its in 1st and i try to stop. my clutch feels kinda funny too, sort of wobbly. please help me if u can, i dont know of any "good" shops in or around my area so please tell me if u think a begginer mech can fix it. tia!

The problem may be as simple as a blown clutch, so check there first. Replacing synchros and your tranny is not cheap, so check for the obvious before thinking of the worst.
Same thing happened to me. I bring my car to the Acura dealership because I can't get it in gear when the rpm is between 3000-6000. After inspection, they tell me I broke my synchros and I'll need a whole new tranny - Cost = $3400. I get a second opinion at a reputable shop and they tell me the spring on my clutch popped out - that's it!!! No tranny problem, just a clutch problem - Cost = $400.
After I replaced the clutch, the car ran like the first day I bought it.

The reason you can shift with the car off is because nothing is spinning, and there's nothing for the synchronizers to do. The gears simply shove their way past the teeth. If anything, the fact that you can shift with the car off is evidence that it is the clutch.
One of the main concepts that I was trying to emphasize in that old post is this: Synchros wear GRADUALLY. If you notice a slow increase in the incidence of grinding gears when shifting, that is likely a synchro issue. But if all of a sudden you can't shift anymore, unless you just managed to bend the crap out of a shift rail, it's more than likely the clutch.
Do these things:
1) Make sure your clutch hydraulics reservoir is full
2) Bleed the system
3) If the hydraulics are operating properly, then you'll have to drop the trans and inspect the clutch (you would have to do this anyway to fix the tranny)
4) If there is nothing wrong with the clutch, well then, time to dig into the tranny.
I would be willing to put $$ on the hydraulics being bad/needing maintenance.

i just looked at my pedal and noticed they're was some residue and also i noticed that the clutch makes a creaking/popping sound and it feels real spongy too.
i think i know whats wrong, but im not sure. i screwed the thing that the clutch fluid comes out of in front of th headers and a bubble came out. That fixed the problem for awhile, but then it started again, i turned the car off on the highway and started it again and it was fine. what could it be?????? master cylinder?
