94 Accord LX (manual) misfiring?
I've had this issue since I bought the car a few months back, but since I'm taking a road trip in a few weeks, I thought I'd ask the question. My roommate and I both have a gut feeling that it's misfiring. If I understand correctly, it could be something as simple as spark plugs, but could be something more serious.
It has no kick in the acceleration when shifting between 2nd and 3rd. I can floor it, but it still accelerates very slowly. Also, when I shift to 5th, the rpms drop to about 1500 and slowly creep up.
Is it possible to deduce that the issue lies between certain cylinders? Or should I start off simple by checking all the spark plugs, then moving up to a vacuum check, etc.?
Since the speedo is broken (will be replacing the VSS and checking the solder joints this weekend), it's kind of hard to tell you exact numbers, but I hope by telling you that flooring it helps explain the situation. Also, when I try to pull the CEL codes, I get absolutely nothing.
I've read a few different posts on this matter for this gen of Accord, and I read a lot of different answers, such as clogged EGR ports, timing, or something with the TPS sensor.
