Default 2013 Civic 3000 miles towed to dealer

This morning while shifting from second to third, the clutch went straight to the floor with no resistance, stuck there and car popped out of gear. Coasted to a stop. Can pull clutch out by hand but wont engage doing that. Can start car with clutch pressed in but cant shift gears. Cant start car with clutch out.

My other civic has 270,000 miles and never a clutch problem. Towed to dealer waiting on news. NOT HAPPY with a breakdown on a two month old car with 3k miles.

I kind of thought that too. But at 3k it seems hard to believe. I should have checked fluid but I was too ticked off. A master cylinder failure at 3k seems pretty worrisome, gonna keep happening? Was wondering / hoping if a return spring could have popped off. Anyway, should - BETTER be warranty. Failure with no warning is troubling too.

Will try to capture as best I can - pushrod became disconnected from clutch fork. Dealer has no idea why, was covered under warranty, but very worrisome. WAY not normal for 3k miles

You'd be surprised. Hell we've had to put a new transmission in a 2013 accord with maybe 20 miles on it, not even sold yet, just a PDI lmfao!!!

Gotta say Honda stepped up with free 120k no-deductible warranty on clutch and transmission. Surprised they'd warranty wear item like clutch. Helps to be polite but assertive lol.

Glad they took care of it for you....sheet happens, even to the best of cars.

i love the OP on this. so worried about all this **** going wrong cause a weird random thing went wrong on his brand new car. **** happens man, not every single civic they put out is going to be bulletproof, damn near, but faulty stuff like this happens, relax! my 2012 is almost a year old and havent had a single problem other than a bad sensor going

Dude, I know how good civics are, or I wouldn't be on my third one. I have a 2005 with close to a quarter million miles. No repairs ever needed, including clutch, just routine maintenance and even very little of that is required. Of course occasional things come off the line not quite right. But not typically things that are major and leave you stranded at 3k. Pretty sure you wouldn't be too happy either being stranded and having to get towed.

Likely a defective Clutch MC from the factory. These things do happen, nobody can bat 1.000

I can tell your situation is unique, I have not seen any others with this issue.

Sure, none of us would be unhappy. But it's not worthy to start a thread over. It's a car built by humans, errors will happen. That error may be minor or major. 250k miles without a repair needed is unusual, so is a repair at 3k. So you got lucky on both cars.
