Default clutch problems....maybe tranny problems?

I have a 2000 civic si with 45k miles on it. A few days ago the car took off really rough in first gear and it continues to. Sometimes I have trouble putting the car into gear. The worst was today when i was sitting at a light and couldnt put the car into gear for about 5 minutes. Also the clutch pedal vibrates when im releasing it and kind of feels spongey. Whats going on???

slave cylinder. it's down in front of your transmission, has a boot around one end, and a line with a bleeder vavle on the other. this is what actually pushes your clutch in and lets it out.

update:

ive been driving around only when its neccesary such as going to school, work, etc...but anyways it feels as if the clutch doesnt even work at all. When I'm at a light and put it into first and hold the clutch down it actually will either creep forward without me releasing the clutch or giving it gas or it will just stall. Even when I shift it feels as if the clutch doesnt work at all. Im hoping after I get a new clutch kit and flywheel that everyone will be fine because I really dont want to rebuild the tranny.....

i had the same problem on mine and its your clutch so you will need a pilot bearing for sure when you take it apart see how bad your clutch is to replace it or not and you mights as well re surface your flywheel. when i had my problem i would be sitting at the light and the clutch would vibrate and the after a couple days it started smoking so it is that. good luck.
