Hello, I have been doing a lot of research on various forums but have never came across a question I have. I just recently purchased a 1989 honda civic wagovan. I already own a 1994 honda civic hatch and have a short throw shifter for it that i would like to put in the wagon. So my question is will a 1992-1995 short throw shifter interchange with the 88-91 generation? Any and all help will be greatly appriciated. Thank you

 

Yes it will. I had a shifter from a del sol in my 90 hatch years ago. Also i had an extra short throw for my 91, i put it in a buddy's 94 with no problems

 

D-Series shifters fit any d-series linkage regardless of chassis.

This is true up until 2000. 7th gen D-Series Civics are a different story.
