Weird hunting idle. No answers searched everywhere
Searched all over but no real answers. Checked iac it's good fitv is good the screws tight coolants good. I had a blow out and after that the idle started hunting. It idles around 2800 ish on a cold start then fluctuates from 800ish to 1500 or maybe higher. My tach is off so it's not to accurate on the rpms. I can't think of anything else that can cause an issue. When the tire blew it cracked my piping but I didn't think an exhaust leak would cause an issue that drastic. Any other options would help! It's my dd
Even tho you checked your IAC, put a different one on, That is what it is. 9 out of 10 that's what it is with them. I've had that problem before with a few hondas, and every time that's what it is. Even tho you look at it, looking does nothing.
You can try removing it, and cleaning it with break clean or Intake cleaner, but once they go, they go.

I removed it and cleaned it. Unplugged it with the car running and the idle dropped to a low fast flutuating as if it was cammed almost. So that means it should be working right? It's just really got me stumped. I'm going to swap it out today see if it changes anything if not back to square 1
Ok I'll take a look at that a swell. Question about the coolant problems. Would it be all the time? Or only until warm ? With air bubbles not the fitv and would my car get hot if it had air in the lines?
So replaced iac changed nothing but when cars warm I cover the fitv hole in the tb and it idles steady idk where cause I can't see the tach but I know it stops bouncing lol. If I plug the coolant lines with that cut the valve off? Or do I have to remove and block it off completely ?

on a warm engine - if your idle improves when you cover the bypass port for the FITV - it has become mis-adjusted. no air should be traveling through the bypass port when the engine is warm.
