Drop the compression to below 10:1 12:5 is too high to run any real boost.

Incorrect. You can safely run boost on high compression, but the tuning must be perfect. Lower compression just gives more room for error.

That said, you need to take the head off and figure out what kind of sleeves the engine has. Stock sleeves will shatter if you try to put that much power through them.

The tuner will tell you that. There is no magic safe number. And POWER breaks things, not PSI.

What the hell does standpoint have to do with anything?

There is no such thing as "usually safe boost PSI". Like grumble already said, PSI means nothing. On stock sleeves at 12.5:1, 8PSI from a GT06, or 2PSI from a GT60 would both be enough to snap your sleeves. You still don't seem to even know what kind of sleeves you have, though, which is a critical point for what you're trying to do.

Considering he said he just got it I doubt that anything about the engine can be verified unless he has papers.

There is a Forced Induction section of THIS forum (H-T). Muckman has a build thread going involving boost and high compression. Read it. Learn something. While you're there, read the Forced Induction FAQs. Educate yourself. Stop asking for opinions. You won't know who is feeding you garbage and you knows what he is talking about if all you do is try to get opinions.
