Default Steering Wheel / Hub Upgrades. Any styles to look for or stay away from?

hey guys, I am interested in upgrading the steering wheel in my Crx. It is stock and is starting to get soft.

I am not sure yet if I would like to do a simple hub swap with an aftermarket wheel, or if I should go with a removeable setup, I really like the security of a removeable wheel, but I fear that "play/slop" may develop in the mechanical parts inside (had this happen before on previous car)

I also hear some brands put the steering wheel to far or to close to the indicator stalks.

What setups do you guys have? Opinions and options are VERY appreciated. I am on no real budget, but I doubt Id like to spend over $300 on this

Cheer and thanks

Stick with quality wheels Personal, Momo, Nardi etc

In terms of quick releases, NRG are good quality so no worrying about movement, etc

It's not brand specific that put it close to the wheel, it's more the fact when quick releases were first made they had race cars in mind so no stalks etc. you can buy spacers for quick releases to move the wheel out.

A removable wheel is by no means secure. It's simply an obstacle in a series of other obstacles that keep a thief in your car longer than he cares to be when he's trying to steal your car.

If you need the wheel closer to you get an NRG hub, quick release, Momo/Nardi/NRG wheel & lock to go with it. Works Bell is also another option.

Im definetely getting a quality wheel, I like the NRG woodgrain ones myself and is what I will probably end up with

its the hub and quick release I am unsure about. I dont want the steering wheel closer or further away, close to stock would be great, but Ive never felt different

You cant just buy a quick release hub right? You have to buy both a hub adapter and then a quick release right? You cant just use a quick release mechanism and a steering wheel of your choise from what I understand...?

You're a little confused. There's the short hub, quick release, steering wheel and lock.
Get the short hub, regular quick release (any version) and wheel. Leaves everything pretty much in the same spot. If you get the slim quick release instead of, you cannot use it with the lock and the wheel will more than likely be farther from you.
