Default Good theft deterent:

Just putmy steering wheel in.

Momo race steering wheel and hub
Quick release hub

The steering wheel

Quick release hub

Wheel on

Wheel off

Good theft deterent. I'd recommend it to anyone. Since the hubs are from 2 different companies I had to do some hacking and to get it to work correctly.

Enjoy.

I like your wheel! I was thinking of doing the same thing after I swap but have no trunk so would have to make it my REALLY BIG Key chain!

I was thinking about that also. With no steering wheel in the car, theres no way they can steal it by driving it away. The only problem i see is what to do with the wheel. I could see at a friends house or at your home bringing it in with you but what about at a restaurant or movie theatre? Where would you put it? the trunk?

then you would lose your settings and the ECU would have to re-learn every time you start the car.

If I saw 90 civics sitting next to each other and one had no steering wheel, you know what I'd be thinkin? I want to steal that one because, obviously, it's worth stealing.

Looks cool though.

my boys car got jacked and they towed it, down the street from the mall at the movie theaters. it sucked *** but ya if they want it they'll get it. and it is true that every lil bit helps though. getting cars these days just sucks!

It's Tekniq Quick release hub for the street.

It's ran me only like $80 I think. I got it a few months back just not got a chance to put it on. Works great. Horn still works. (Momo center button is the horn).

Pretty straight forward install, my steering wheel sitting 95% perfect off by a little I'll work on that in the mornin'.

As for where I keep it? I'm fortunate enough to own a second car so my hatch doesn't see the parking lots of malls often. If it is in a commercial parking lot it's in an area where I can keep a close eye on it all the time.

And when I leave the steering wheel goes with me.

Every little bit helps. I also block my car in with other cars when it's in my house, that and no steering wheel, makes it a little bit more difficult.
