Default Wiring harness?!?

Hey honda-tech I'm new to the building. I'm putting together a boosted Ls-vtec with injectors and new everything, was wondering what engine wiring harness I need to or can get for my setup. I know I need a new ecu but I'm lost on the wiring harness... Thanks!!!

Any B series Harness probably obd1 preferably. Since your getting new everything, highly recommend getting a new harness!

What chassis (year, model) is it going into? What year is the engine and distributor?

IMO matching the chassis is probably the easiest thing, at least if you can stay in the same OBD category.

No shell yet but most likely a 96-2000 ek hatch. Thanks for your help! And the block is a 96 and head is a 2000. But like with new injectors and everything a b series harness will just plug into everything?

Can I get an obd1 harness with a 96 block and 2000 head? Sorry if it sounds dumb just new to it all and thanks for being so helpful! And I can buy a brand new b series harness? Ok then I'll totally do that. Thank you!

I'm guessing if I get a 96-2000 ek hatch the chassis will be obd2?

And another can I do like a 96-2000 civic with an obd1 harness and just an obd1-obd2 adapter ecu plug? Or just use an obd1 ecu?

So ill get an obd2 harness and since the civic most likely had a d series motor it doesn't matter the harness will be compadable? And then I know a new ecu but I can only find obd1 new harness'. But I can't use that with a clip for obd1 to obd2 for ecu? Sorry confused

If you can find an Obd2 harness with vtec plugs then that would be better but you can get just a d series or something and add the vtec wiring. I'm not really clear about the second question, with the car being 96-00 the cabin harness should be Obd2. If anything you would get an Obd2 to Obd1 conversion harness for the ecu since Obd1 ecus are used to tune

Ok and the vtec wiring I guess I would have to look up or something? Lol and okay so I would want an odb1 ecu bc it's best to tune so that's defenatly the ecu I wanna run. And then obviously like a chrome data or something but doesn't the tuner put that in? Or like s300 or something. And so I can't get an obd1 engine harness bc it won't work with 96-00 car? Sorry if I'm confusing but I honestly really appreachiatte all the help

I believe Obd2 cars have a couple of different plugs like the alt. and distributor, injectors. Since your block and head are between 96-00 and the car also it be best to get an Obd2 harness to match. On the od2 to Obd1 jumper harness for the ecu don't forget to get it for the car you end up with since there's obd2a and Obd2b

All Obd2 engine harnesses should be the same, I was referring to the plugs being different from obd2 to Obd1. I believe 96-98 are Obd2a and 99-00 are Obd2b

not to sound like a dick but you sound like you are all over the place with these questions. Do yourself a favor and email joel@strdonline.com and tell him EXACTLY what your set up constists of and he will make you one that plugs right in. All brand new wire pins seals in Raychem dr 25 shrink. Call it a day.

OP, before you go spending money on anything get a vehicle first. How you do it and what your options are depend on what your putting it in to.

Emissions in your area if you have them may also limit your options.
