I have a couple of hail dings on my ITR Hood. The one night it is away from home... I can either have them work it to death or outright replace it. Is the ITR Hood the same as the general issue Integra hood?

Any counsel is appreciated, including VIN number matching.

 

I believe the hood is the same, but of course the color is different.

I don't know of any structural diffs at all.

Can't tell you about VIN matching, unfortunately.

If you change the hood you won't have a VIN sticker on it. You'll get a DOT replacement sticker on a new hood or the old VIN on a used hood. Moving your old VIN sticker is along the lines of VIN tampering and a federal offense.

 

I have a GSR hood on my 00 ITR, there's no difference except the underhood decals.

You can look up the part number for several integras, to confirm a match.

Sunshine causes paint to fade.
You will see the difference, when you swap the hood.
It costs $600 - 800 to paint and blend a hood and the VIN sticker won't match.

Get a good paintless dent remover, as they are not all the same.

 

Wrong, the ITR hood is reinforced yet lighter by 2.6 lbs.

 

6-800 to paint and blend? What body shop are you going to??? I had entire front end painted and blended and it cost me 500

 

Last week, the Acura shop quoted me $800
I went somewhere else and they quoted me $600
