Default PROJECT9 Somethin' (Midwest SFWD Build)

Hey guys,

Just wanted to share my SFWD build for 2013! Its a pretty basic build but if you guys have any insight, questions, or concerns- POST THEM UP!

Enjoy!

(Link to previous builds that got me to this far:
https://honda-tech.com/forums/showth...ght=project142)

Current Engine build:

- AEBS sleeved GSR (Inline Pro)
- OEM GSR crank
- 85mm JE Pistons (~11.0:1 Comp/TPR Spec)
- Manley Turbo Tuff I-Beam rods
- Ferrea STD valves (6000 Intake/ Comp Plus Exhaust)
- Full Ferrea valvetrain
- OEM casting GSR head
- Skunk2 Pro1 cams
- GE head gasket
- GE head studs
- ACL bearings (+.001 clearance)
- Edelbrock Victor X intake manifold
- Omni Power 70mm throttle body

Fuel System

- Magnafuel 4303 pump
- Injector Dynamics 2000cc injectors
- FCS 5 gallon cell with sending unit
- Aeromotive FPR
- AEM fuel rail
- E85 (pump)

Turbo Components

- PTE 6266 (Journal Bearing) .82 V-band inlet/outlet
- Precision 46mm Wastegate
- Fathouse Fabrications Top-mount manifold
- Go-Autoworks GT-500 Intercooler and 2.5" charge piping kit
- Tial 50mm BOV

Electronics

- Hondata s300 with Boost By Gear
- M&W Pro-10 ignition box
- MSD HVC II coil
- Mac valve solenoid

Drive-line

- OEM GSR gearset with LS final drive
- MFactory LSD
- Liberty cuff
- Torco RTF
- Stock axles

Last time the car was dyno'd, it made 738whp/530wtq on 28lbs of boost before I ran out of fuel pump. The A1000 pump I had couldn't keep up.

Once I get some more seat time, I'll throw a little more boost at it.
I'm curious to see how it does with 35lbs thrown at it

.
.
.
Now, onto the pics!

Had my CCC Racing wing wrapped by one of the companies here at work!

Top 10 of the most nerve racking things you can do! BRAND NEW SET OF WELDS!

Got my Exospeed front!

Honestly, this Exospeed kit fits pretty good. At first, I wasn't sure about how it was going to line up when I just laid the fenders on top of the rails. Aside from the very minor trimming I've had to do, I am super pleased with the fitment!

I have to trim out an area for my traction bars and my dump tube. Should probably have that done tonight so that I can start mocking up the bumper in order to build the supports.

Since I have ditched the heater core this year, I had to run to Honda to get a plug for my cylinder head. FYI- This is the same plug that is found on the other side of the head which keep the rocker arm shafts in.

Had some more parts come in as well. Hopefully I'll have them on the car soon!

Excited to see this thing on the track. What is the part number on that fitting where heater core line used to go. I too have eliminated that and would rather run the plug instead of the cap I currently have.

Great to see you stepping up to SFWD!

You've given me a lot of help via pm's, so I'm sure the work on this car will be top notch.

Why the 2.5" charge pipes instead of 3"?

I would like to run at Edgewater for sure. I have tried to make it out for the Thursday night lights or whatever but its such a long drive for having to work the next morning lol.

Thanks I appreciate it!

The 2.5" pipes are from about 3 years ago on my first build. I only planned on making 400whp and I didnt see the car turning into anything more than a 4-500whp street car lol! With my past luck with the car, I haven't had any extra money to put towards upgrading, its always been rebuilding! Haha.

I didn't have much time to work on the car last night but I got the bumper trimmed up to fit, then mocked it up. Its just held in place with C-clamps at the moment. I am going to take some measurements and start up on the bumper support.

I plan to use a 3/4" round steel tubing to make a bumper at the bottom of the bumper and then using 1/4" round stock and eyebolts to make the mounts for the quik latches.

Ehh, about the same. Haven't had the motivation to mess with it. Trial and error with getting this trans to shift is expensive and time consuming haha.

Cant wait to see how your car performs with the boost turned up

Expensive and time consuming- That's no joke!

I can't wait to see how the car performs with some slicks, let alone with the boost turned up! LOL
