Default Big Problem

I was changing my valve cover due to leaking spark plug seals. While tighten it up messed around and stripped the Freaking two front bolts that hold the valve cover down.

Whats the best way to fix this problem?

Well assuming you stripped the threads out of the block.....if a helicoil will fit in there that should work fine

I don't know, call me old school, but i don't use anything other than hand tools on a vehicle. I also make it a point to always use a torque wrench and torque to manufacturers spec.

Fucked up too much **** to be in too big of a hurry. It gets costly fast.

This here exactly^ The damn mechanic who did my timing belt job (month after I bought the car so I was fairly low knowledge at that time) used a damn air wrench. Surprised more bolts weren't stripped.

why would you use an impact gun on a bolt that requires less than 20 lbs of torque ?

I call it being proper, using air tools to put anything together isn't the best idea in the world. You need to feel when doing work like this and you can't feel through air powered hammers. Haha

"Lets just stick whatever works in there for the meantime"

Ever heard the term "Do it right the first time"?

are they even the same thread size/pitch? (considering you said "just put some other bolts")
