B16a2 annoying sound above 2500rpm
Not easy to describe. It sounds like there is a leave in the blower vibrating somewhere. But I know it is the engine. Only above 2500rpm. Doesn't matter which gear, and also when I rev it above that in neutral it makes that sound.
LMA's? But mine has that a bit as well and when I listen under the bonnet/hood it sounds different. Like there is a marble moving around and that is not the sound I hear when driving.
Something to do with the valve clearance? But I guess it would be all the time and not just above 2500.
I notice no difference in performance or anything. When cold it does rev around 1500 and warm back to 1000-1100.
Injectors is another something I read about, but can that be heard inside the car? OEM injectors by the way?
Should I try different oil maybe? This is what I use now. MOTUL 8100 X-cess 5W-40
Thanks,

Thanks,
First check valve lash 2nd when was your last FULL tune up ? 3rd no injector won't make that sound(at least not the injector it's self) any codes
Planning to do that tomorrow. But did that 5-6 months ago. Full tune up was done 9 months ago. You mean oil change etc? Okay injectors are of the list then, thought that would be weird. No codes, drives just fine, but the sound is getting annoying now, not that it gets louder, but now I've heard it I keep hearing it.
It sounds like a leave in the blower, could it be that the intake is sucking in air it shouldn't. Or maybe something to to with the throttle body? Because it happens above 2500rpm?
Definitely no exhaust leak (I finally got that fixed
)
I could check everything, but I would have no idea what to look for.
Guess I'll start with the valve lash again. Then intake/air filter/TB.
Spoon spark plug wires wouldn't cause this right?

if actual spoon brand no they shouldn't. does the car feel low on power when you hear that noise ?

No it does not feel like it is holding back at all. No problems there.
Checked the valve lash/clearance. Thats all good.
Cleaned the TB. K&N panel filter cleaned. (there was not that much rubbish in it).
There was one nut on the intake manifold that was a bit loose, tightened that back up.
And I listened again under the hood. All I really seem to hear is noise from the injectors somehow. I made a video/soundclip. I'll try to upload it. I put a screwdriver on them and they made a ticking noise.
Washed the car
. So haven't taking it out for a drive yet so I don't know if any of the above things has helped maybe.

You know how I know you drive a honda?
Do you have a header? You will hear a lot of hissing and exhaust tick if you have a header.
exhaust tick....?
. Doesn't sound like a leaf blower, it sounds like there is leaf in the heater/blower.Because I'm on Honda-Tech

Of course I have a header, it would be to loud without one
. Supersprint header. But been driving a long time with that and the sound is more recent.
I had a similar sound at an RPM years ago.. turns out the header tubes were a little close to each other and touched/vibrated after 3200. Drove me nuts trying to find it..
IDK if this is your symptom, but just throwing my .02 in

I also put in some fuel cleaner, need to do that a few more times to have it ''fully'' cleaned according to the bottle. As the injectors make some much noise, IDK maybe that will help.
