We have no idea either. This is too vague. We need more info- Year Make Model, cat converter? How many miles, when was the last tune up, etc.

Check engine light on? What state are you in? What are your limit and actual CO and NOX #'s? This can point towards the problem.

aight so heres the cheater way to get your tabs....go to the dmv and tell them that your car is non running...iv done that for the past two years and i always get my tabs....they will ask you why its not running so just tell them blown head gasket or something just make a believable story out of it and you should be fine....i too live in washington and like i said has worked for me and few of my friends

I have that sheet with me. I already post it. I want to know if the lower temperature will effect the CO?

The engine being this cool won't allow the computer to correct fuel/ignition much to reduce emissions versus the temp it will reach with a new thermostat. Edit- now I see the pics lol- ya, not bad a tune up should fix

bumpstick.. i thin khe means outside temp. as no emissions place will test a car without it being at proper running temperature. he is running a bit rich.. a set of plugs and an airfilter should fix the problem..

About the only thing you can do is take the filter off and tap it against something like a tire or blow it lightly w/compressed air(be very careful, though, air filters are easily damaged from compressed air, so hold it maybe a foot or two away from air nozzle). The spark plugs to get are NGK PFR6G-13 or PK20PR-L13 Nippondenso (per service manual)

either your gauge is faulty( unlikely) or your coolant sensor is bad. and yes, a dirty air filter will cause a slight rich condition and old plugs will do the same. I gained over 3ftlbs and 3 hp , just by switching out the plugs on a dyno.

Ya, it should be reading slightly less than halfway after its warmed up. Edit- it gets cold up that way, but it would reach at least 1/4-1/3 up the gauge @ idle, stationary. That's only about 1/8 on gauge...

Just get the premium one+ new gasket. Install it without excess sealant on gasket. Scrape out any buildup in/on the gasket surfaces and place t-stat in the correct position. The spring side points to the engine and the pin in the flat plate points straight up. You'll leak out most of your cars coolant when doing this so you might want to also get a jug of antifreeze.

I did it yesterday, but its not really work. I am not sure its because of the autozone thermostate problem, or the senor. Do i really have to buy the oem one?

I don't, I just get the premium one from parts house- that's what I meant above. Probably a bad sensor like other guy said
