So i was driving and revved it up to about 5000rpm on 1st gear and the car made a weird noise like i was dragging plastic or something and it instantly turned off and did not start anymore. Didnt crank or anything jus click. Then i opened the valve coverand found a peice of the valve spring retainer right next to the spring just chillen on the upmost left corner. Wtf did i do what should i do how do i fix it?! I have no clue what to do any help is appreciated. I have a 2000 em1 with a jdm b16a. Just i/h/e and everything else is stock. Thanks !

 

Sounds like you dropped a valve. Time for a rebuild/swap.

You said the car won't start, it just clicks when you turn the key. Something locked the engine up. You have to take it apart far enough to see what caused this before anything.

 

It wouldnt be the other half peice that i took out?

 

Unplug the dizzy and pull the fuse for the fuel pump. Does the engine crank now?

In that case yes i'd say so. though this was just you asking us after having it towed home. pull the head either way it's always neat too see the after math.

I don't know, i bought the.car a little over a year ago but never adjusted them.
