Default USDM GSR Engine or JDM Type-R Engine

What up guys! I'am new to this and i just wanted to get opinions from you guys. I currently have a 1995 Honda Civic EX with a ZC block with a ported Z6 P08-5 head and tuned. I recently purchased and installed a Progress Coilover II System (350/350). Has an AEM intake and 2 1/2 in. piping. I recently went to the Drag track up in Sacramento, CA and let me tell you it was pure adrenaline going down the 1/4 mile. As you can see on the tittle im planing on making B-series complete swap on the car. I was wondering if you guys could give me some opinions on what route should i go? i know the JDM Type R has a compression of 11:0 i believe and the GSR is 9:3. I plan on boosting and im not sure if the Type R since it has a high compression, boosting it might be affected by the compression. I seen alot of you guys boost and even stroke the GSR. So what are your opinions thanks guys...

GSR is 10:1 i believe. If going boost get a gsr for less $$ so you have more money to turbo it.

If you're going stock motor, you're still limited to ~350whp and staying reliable. either one would work, but you have that crap 91 octane so you're more limited that way.

Yes, usdm gsr=10.0:1 c/r. Costs a lot less than hype r. Check out the forced induction section for more info.

Just had my JDM type R tuned. I never thought I would boost this engine when I bought it. The GSR makes more sense if you are planning to turbocharge the engine, its cheaper and more tune friendly as already stated.

Even an LS is a good option and even cheaper.

I'd suggest a B18B swap if it's your first attempt. Take all the money you saved and use it to buy all the little things you won't think of. People take them to 300+ bone stock quite often.

Take a look at the last couple dozen pages here: https://honda-tech.com/forums/forced-induction-16/lst-ls-t-turbo-b18a-b18b-setups-1323059/

Otherwise a low milage GSR is the next best solution. If it blows up it's cheaper to replace, and with a turbo you can just run a bit more boost to make the same power.
