JDM gsr vs USDM gsr
What do you guys think I should go with..
B18C - 180Hp 126Trq 10.6 Compression (JDM GSR)
or
B18C1 - 170Hp 121Trq 10.1 Compression (USDM GSR)
I am asking because I am planning to go turbo, and I wanted to know if I should go with the GSR motor with lower compression?
What do you guys think?

Re: JDM gsr vs USDM gsr (hatchback)
its always easier to tune with the lower compression. but you will make more power at less boost. what management will you use? i would say go for it. and youll have a little more fun with it before you turbo. or you could go with the lower CR and boost a little more(if you want to). wow, i guess that doesnt help too much .

I was also wondering if lower compression pistons would be necessary on the b18c(JDM) for low boost(under 8 psi). The place I want to order from only has JDM's in stock.

I say get the JDM. With 10.1 or 10.6 comp, you're going to need top notch tuning. So save the $300 on the motor and just put it towards the tuning.

Re: JDM gsr vs USDM gsr (symba)
Will I have to end up, lowering the compression some how? Or would I just do as you guys are saying and just have it tuned really well?

with good tuning on the jdm motor
you should be able to do around 320whp on race gas - if not more
this is at around 9psi
320whp in a light hatch should give you high 11's
a guy around the chicago land area just put down 320+whp on a completey stock jdm gsr motor tuning was with smc+ and dsm 440cc this was one race gas to be safe...
to high whp stock motors

he does have a skunk2 IM and some other stuff. he could have put down a little better numbers too because he didnt take it up as high as he could have.
