So, I recently bought a car, and I just noticed today that the odometer and trip stopped working at the same time. After driving around for a few miles or so, unsure how many exactly, both started working again. Any suggestions on how to fix it? Do you think this is evidence of foul play? I have not yet run a carfax. Also, it seems that I'm getting excellent gas mileage, got about 37 MPG for the last few, not sure if this helps at all- But, yeah. Any suggestions?

 

If the speedometer worked fine when the odo and trip didn't, then replace it.
