Default Who here has recently done a auto to 5 speed?

I am looking to sell my hatch and get a cleaner, but auto 4dr and just wondering if it is worth the trouble. I have searched and found a few threads just wanted to see if has been done recently.

is it a 90-91? or an 88-89? 90-91 has the clutch cable hole/bracket already there, 88-89 does not and the bracket and hole has to be added.

you will need:
manual transmission
manual ecu
clutch kit
flywheel
clutch cable
manual pedals (make sure you get sedan pedals as hatch/crx uses a different style of gas pedal boss on the throttle cable, and crx/hatch pedals do not have the mount for the cruise control cable)
manual flywheel
clutch bolts
shift linkage
shifter
mtf fluid
new axle seals
manual rear motor mount
manual rear motor mount bracket.

here's a good DIY on how to do it

i located all the parts like the above post and had a shop do it. Depending your location probably going to be a hard time finding a decent si tranny. Good luck.

o/p you might consider a hydraulic conversion then? opens up the availability of transmissions ALOT since 92-00 transmissions are easier to find

Some claims are made that the some metal from a donor should be swapped over.
The firewall hole for the clutch cable is notably different.
However many swaps have been done without this having been done... mostly good, but a few bad reports.
