is it correct that when datalog shows dropping vacuum number it means exhaust is a restriction.
and when vacuum number goes up towards redline it means the intake system is a restriction.

should map reading curve reflect the torque curve or its not related?

i finally was able to do a 4th gear pull hoping this will give me more detailed map curve.

but the rpm and map curves are as you can see not very smooth even in 4th gear

this was on a freeway i finally had a good stretch with no cars and i did from 5000 to 8000rpm in 4th gear.

i did it in 3rd gear last time and couldnt zoom in much at all to see any details so i thought 4th gear pull would bring out more points per minute but when zoomed in its exactly same as 3rd gear pull (neptune)

im still trying to find the cause of that breakdown after vtec the curve is not smooth at all

 

i've heard pulling more vacuum in upper rpm ranges is a sign of an intake restriction.

as far as exhaust restrictions go, seeing torque fall off unusually early (as in sooner than other engines that are similar) in upper rpm ranges.

take that with a grain of salt though as i have no first hand experience. i am curious what others have to say.

 

Manifold pressure readings falling normally indicates intake restriction, exhaust restriction can also affect the intake performance.

The dyno graph shows it had a ramp rate of 154 it needs to be around 120 to 140 max on a N/A Honda engine.

 

Thats pretty much the only section that i did a pull.

Ramp Rate on a dyno dynamic's is the RPM per sec or distance per sec as they call it, I have been using these dyno's since the early 1990's and all my Honda testing was done and still is on them.
