type-R guys, can I get some back up over here?
Hey I don't usually post on this forum too much, but there's too many misinformed a-holes out there and if any of you care enough about chiming in it might help! All of you will most likely find this at least very funny.

ahahahaha....I don't want to take the time right now to register there and give my point of view, but it was definitely worth a hell of a good laugh...ha, us Type R guys are so cocky and have our heads in the sky....ahahahaha
Basically a losing argument.. You can't change physics... 45 hp more and RWD
will usually beat us no matter what.. stock for stock.. in a straight line anyway.
The real point is which is more fun for the buck? Which one does what it is supposed to better? The S2000 is not a race car at all.. It's not mean't as anything else but to get Miata lovers into the Honda showroom. I can tell you one thing for sure..
Judging by the local ads the R holds its value like a dream compared to the S2000.
So maybe we should be talking about which is a better investment ( if any new car could be called an investment! ).

Heh this statement is way WAY off....are you aware the suzuka lap record(excluding full race cars) is held by an S2000? I also would like to say that I never loved the miata, and even if a miata lover did walk into a honda showroom they better be willing to fork over the extra $10,000 and change for insurance.
*note: I came here for some help, not to argue...but this statement was just too far from the truth to let slide.

the extra weight is due to the extra reinforcement it needs to make up for the lack of a roof...
have you ever driven one of those rental convertibles without enough reinforcements

haha no offense to the s2k folks, but they remind me of the RSX board....
rob- who nipped at the heels of a bolt s2k till 3rd.

I got a good chuckle reading that board. Dennis is raising hell over there..
After reading that board, you would think an R would be NO match for an S2k. I think us rational people know that anything is possible. Yes the S2k is more powerful, but the R can hang in damn well against an S2k.. Steve C is doing a good job there..

sounds like fun...however Im too god damn lazy to go read it
all I can say is that S2K owners are as much(if not more) of an egotistical stuckup bastard when it comes to their cars than the ITR owners are.
However I dont believe the above statement that the S2K is not a racecar...factory 9Krpm, RWD, 2 dr sports convertible that handles like its on rails is an awesome all around sports car in my book
The car is not the problem, its the owners
haha
:fire:

average driver of s2k can beat a pro driver in itr
lol, a pro driver of a ford zx2 can probably beat the average s2k owner around a road course.

Crappy low-midrange torque + 2800 lbs. + RWD = reason why mildly modded ITRs can keep up with, if not put a hurt on, S2000s in a straight line. I actually see RWD as a disadvantage as far as off-the-line acceleration goes with such a high-strung motor. Maybe it would be a different story if they liposuctioned about 400 lbs. out of the S2K's fat ***.
I'd rather have a Miata anyday. Hell, I'd rather have a Miata than two S2000s.

Oh and I really do like S2000's and all that, but they are way overpriced for what you get IMO.
Their stuck up cause they paid out of their a$$holes for that car. In Canada, an S2K will cost $55K after taxes.

This thread is hella' funny and so is the thread on S2ki.com!
When it comes to having an ego, I have observed very little differences between ITR ans S2K owners
Lloyd~ who has purchased both cars
