Default ecu help

hey guys i have a question.

i have a 98 civic coupe with a d16y8 in it, i was wondering what is the best ecu to go with. i always hear people talking about p28's and i see people selling p2p and p30 and everything under the sun. what do they all do? whats the difference between them all?

any light that could be shed on this is greatly appreciated

You should probably sit down and learn what an ECU does before you go worrying about replacing them. Since you didn't mention otherwise, I'm assuming your car is stock. There is absolutely no reason to run anything other than the stock ECU. There will be no benefit from running a different ECU, unless it's chipped and tuned. The P28 is the most common ECU to chip and tune.

Agreed^

only real thing different between some of them is the control for the GSR iab's(p72) so if you have a gsr and put a p28 in it the iabs won't function.
