so i have been hearing odd noises from my exhaust for the past 2 months, and i had previously installed a magnaflow hi flow race cat 2.5" about 16k miles ago. Well yesterday we cut it out and welded in just a length of 2.5" pipe.

What i think is odd is that when we removed the cat, guess what! It was empty all but one small chunk inside. completely hallowed out. So 14-16k miles on a stock h22a jdm swap and it destroyed the cat. Anyone know what would cause this?? i have no problems at all with the h22a, no cel, no nothing! engine has about 45k miles.

Possible i got a faulty cat from the get go? or is it the JDM POWA!! ??? LOL, jk but seriously i am just confused as to what could have caused this. Now my muffler is jam pack full of cat material and i need a new muffler.
