Default code 4 on new dizzy

I'm getting a code 4 (crank position sensor) on a brand new aftermarket dizzy. I've checked all the connections and the wire colors and everything seems to be in order. Is there anything else I can look at before returning this dizzy as defective?

I forgot to mention continuity also tested ok

I also tried a different ECU... same thing.

I'd hate to have to pay the shipping all over to return this thing if there's anything else I can try first.

a lot of aftermarket distributors have the wires for the crank sensor switched inside the distributor so that the orange wire is where the white should be and the white is where the orange should be - try switching the orange and white crank sensor wires at the distributor connector - make sure that you use the white crank sensor wire and not the white igniter wire
