I have a 95 lude 2.3 non v . 200k miles
I was driving one day and ps belt and alt ac belt broke. Now as I went to put new belts on the crank pully was loose and not tight down. Went to a shop had them tighten down to 100+ lbs ? Now belts squeak bad and took it back they say the crankshaft moves and its not pully.
How do u stop new belts squeking and or if its main bearings to stop crankshaft wobbel can I just drop oil pan and get to mains there without pulling crankshaft out at all.
Help !!!!!

 

number 1... that bolt should only be 83fp. not 100.

 

The shop said crank pulley bolt was 100lbs ?
They said it was on there good but crankshaft wobbled and I am lost what to do

 

same thing happened to my 5th gen, fucked up the crankshaft as well, now i have to get a motor swap or sell it.

 

Okay I can tell if crankshaft has spun or ran with no oil and I still have power.
It hasn't spun yet ( knock on wood ) and belts before never made any sounds at all
I have tried Honda and auto zone and advance belts different size and all still all squeak like crazy at low rpm and start up . At 1500+ rpm I am ok . No sound
Help me . Car was 800 cash so can't go wrong

 

its 83 fp. 100 may strip it. but it may not

 

Maybe its the balancer or the washer on the bolt

 

When the bolt came loose did the crank pulley vibrate around and damage the crank snout? If the pulley isn't sitting right on there will cause some issues.

By the fact that it does it at low rpm then goes away, sounds more like the belts just need to be a tad tighter to me. Also cheap belts may be more prone to noise, try either a goodyear gatorback, or oem Honda belts.

 

I don't know if it did . It was not loose for more then 20min tops
I limped into a auto shop they titend it down after I tried with a 19mm and my hand holding pulley just to get it there. They tell me its tight and all way on but crankshaft moves??????? am I just dumb
