Anti theft
Hello all,
I have purchased a really clean 94 lx Accord for $1500 from my 79 yr old neighbor. I bought this car for 2 reasons: 1st as a commuter to work car and 2nd to start teaching my soon to be 12 yr old son how to work on and modify cars as this will eventually become his to drive and I want him to take pride in his work.
Now here is the problem, within 2 weeks of ownership some guys tried to make this their new car!!!
What I am looking for are some good hidden kill switch ideas. Or I should say hidden in plain sight like use the rear defrost button(don't really need rear defrost in SoCal). Has anyone tried this and how did you do it?
Thanks

You'll likely want to check out the Audio/Video/Security forum for some ideas.
Easy ones are tossing a hidden switch to the fuel pump. More advanced ones are out there, I don't think you want to pay $400+ for a full two-way alarm setup though.
Keep in mind they can still flat-bed it and get away, I doubt they'll go to that much trouble though.

Welcome to cd5 ownership. Most popularly boosted vehicle. Locks keep an innocent man innocent. Dummy switches make it more difficult for boosters to get away with your ride. If they really want it, as was previously stated, a flat bed or car dolly (they cut e brake cables) will help some one come up with a new, fully functional parts car (or complete vin swap to match a plate they already have).

Autolock on the pedal, Club between shifter and hand brake(make sure the parking brake is properly adjusted), should deter most thieves. No need to hack into the wiring of the car. Don't think Steadfast offers any column guards for the Accord.
Thanks for the replies. I know if they want it bad enough they will get it. This is a car I paid $1500 for and at this time I want to keep it cheap as funds are low. I am pretty sure its kids who are trying to boost it as why would you chance jail time over a 19 year old Honda that has no performance parts on it?
Anyway I just want to slow them down to the point they move on to an easier target.
Thanks
